What does the "i" stand for in the new SR60e and SR80e headphones from Grado? Improved, that’s what! The SR60e has a newly designed driver and housing to reduce resonance and distortion. Their upgraded driver designs, and plastic housings with improved mass distributions result in reduced transient distortion, and less bass resonance, which enhances the overall detail. The SR80e is built on the same features as theSR60e, but utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and a special de-stressed diaphragm to enhance inner detail. The result produces better control of the frequency spectrum and a more open stage. When we evaluated them, we compared them to our B&W Matrix 801, Series 3 studio monitors, and found the sound to be quite competitive. A lot of sound for minimal expense.
