REK-O-KUT S-320 MK II
UPGRADE AUDIOPHILE TONEARM SEARCH NO LONGER FOR HEADSHELLS FOR YOUR VINTAGE REK-O-KUT ARM-UPGRADE! Unlike vintage Rek-O-Kut arms, the S-320 MKII utilizes standard removable headshells to facilitate switching cartridges and styli, precise tracking and anti-skating force adjustment, a damped cuing arm, and lower mass. The S-320 MKII arm mounts at almost the exact point of the original arm found on so many vintage Rek-O-Kut turntables, as the Model 120 and S-320. Slight mounting hole modification may be required. No need to ruin the cosmetics of your original turntable base. It will cover the mounting hole of most earlier Rek-O-Kut arms. This arm mounts directly onto an Audio Empire 598 with no modifications, cutting, etc. Just pop it in and it is ready to go. For other Empire turntable, some drilling, etc., may be necessary for an installation. The new S-320 MKII arm used in combination with a vintage Rek-O-Kut turntable, restored with our new belts and Rumble Isolators, will result in an up-to-date audiophile record player.

Our 5882 mounting base only requires you to drill the addition flange mounting holes. Its width almost guarantees that no old mounting areas will be visible and facilitates a very cosmetic upgrade. REK-O-KUT S-240 OIL DAMPED AUDIOPHILE TONEARM The S-240 fits into the same footprint as the TranScribe tonearm, can be used as an upgrade to the Rondine 3 turntable, and has enhanced features. There are very few modern tonearms that actually have 16" transcription disc capacity. They cost many times the price of the S-240. This extra length also has advantages for the more common 12" LP records, in that there is less of a tracking error. Unlike many other other separate tonearms now being offered, the S-240 utilizes removable headshells to facilitate switching cartridges and styli The S-240 employs a silicon oil dampening system to reduce high frequency tonearm resonance and improve trackability with problem records. The effect of fluid damping is dynamic and mostly effective at higher frequencies. It is a fluid Below 5 Hz, but a brake above that. It reduces cantilever stress produced while riding up and down a warp. It produces very little resistance as the stylus follows a warp, but it reduces the intensity of arm resonance following such a shock. It reduces queue skipping at the beginning of a record. It reduces the sensitivity of a tonearm to external vibration. Thus, cleaner sound and less skips.

S-260 MKII AUDIOPHILE TONEARM If building a new turntable playback system, you should consider the new Rek-O-Kut S-260 MKII extra long arm. There are very few modern tonearms that actually have 16" transcription disc capacity. Few less that are true 12" (305 mm) in effective length. Those available else ware cost many times the price of the S-260 MKII. This extra length also has advantages for 12" LP records, in that there is much less tracking error. Unlike vintage Rek-O-Kut arms, the S-260 MKII utilizes standard removable headshells to facilitate switching cartridges and styli, precise tracking and anti-skating force adjustment, a damped cuing arm, and lower mass. If used as a replacement of and earlier Rek-O-Kut Model 160 or S-260, it will cover the mounting hole of most. The S-260 MKII arm mounts at almost the exact point of the original arm found on so many vintage Rek-O-Kut turntables. Slight mounting hole modification may be required. It can be used with almost any new build turntable system, as
an arm replacement, or upgrading of earlier Rek-O-Kut S-260 arms. This
arm cannot be used on any of our current CVS line of turntables. It can
be used with our Rondine 3, but only with some cosmetic compromises and not
using the dustcover.

HEADSHELLS FOR MOST TURNTABLES
If you change cartridges a lot, you can run into the problem
of your tracking force being off. For instance, one headshell for LPs, one for
78s. This low mass, aluminum, precision headshell, made by Rek-O-Kut has 2 gram
and 4 gram weights that screw into the top to compensate for such differences.
All connectors and arm pins are gold flashed. They are designed to fit most
S-shaped tonearms. Weight 8.5 grams, same as on our CVS turntables.

HEADSHELL CARTRIDGE-END CLIPS
These pins are made to fit 0.05 inch pins.
They are gold-flashed for improved conductivity, and come in a more convenient
to grasp length of 0.577 inches. These clips are made for crimping with appropriate crimpers, but leads can easily be soldered onto the clips. We have tried The AMP HD 20 and Molex HTR 2262A and had good results. Pictured is a Garrard Lab A70 headshell whose damaged arm leads were replaced with our clips.

The
Standard arm cable features a molded-on right angle arm connector, low
capacitance cable, and molded-on, gold-plated RCA connectors. Length is
45 inches. 
For
Empire Troubadours, you will need a straight arm connector on the cable
end, as the arm mounts in a tube. The Premium arm cable features a
straight gold-plated arm connector, premium Neglex 2534 cable, and heavy-duty,
gold-plated, machined RCA connectors. Length is 45 inches.

S-320 MKII AND S-260 MKII ARMS
Whether
you who can't really afford $100.00 for an SME headshell, or you simply want a
low-mass headshell, it will fit the need. Made of aluminum and steel.
Its mass is a mere 6.75 grams, compared to 7.75 grams for the SME. Other
differences are: no gold flashing of rear contacts, and wires do not have
insulated boots.
If
you need to replace or want to upgrade headshell-end cartridge clips in a
headshell or tonearm, these will do the job. Almost all such clips are
normally made to fit 0.04 inch diameter cartridge pins. However, almost
all cartridge pins are actually made at 0.05 inches. This results in much
effort for insertion and you almost always must resort to pliers. 
For added durability, the clip ends have a metal wrap-around strain relief.
Very
often the tracking force scale on the arms of these venerable old record
changers get's rubbed off or is lost in restoration. The pictured arm was
greatly pitted and it was necessary to sand and refinish it completely.
The
self-adhesive scale labels must be trimmed to the black edge. They come in
pairs. So, you have one redundant in case you make a mistake. Simply
place the sticker such that the 7 gram indication is 3-11/16 inches (93mm) from
the front end of the arm, and press down. That is all there is to it.
